From 10 August, currency-exchange trading runs until 5:00 p.m., while official rates for 74 foreign currencies are published at 5:30 p.m. on each banking business day.

The longer session is designed to give banks more time to manage foreign-exchange liquidity, execute client payments and maintain continuity in foreign-currency settlements during the operating day. The change expands the practical window for market activity without altering the established uses of official rates.

The Central Bank now publishes official soum exchange rates for 74 currencies at 5:30 p.m. after each trading day. These rates continue to be used for accounting, statistical reporting, customs duties and other mandatory-payment calculations.
